Norwest Ship Management AS adds the first reefer vessel to its fleet portfolio. The company announced in the social media that the MV Ice has been ‘instrumental in expanding its capabilities into the refrigerated cargo sector.’
“The addition of MV Ice to our fleet marked a significant step forward for Norwest Ship Management AS, enabling us to offer specialized refrigerated shipping solutions to meet the growing demands of our clients,” the shipowner said.
As reported, the vessel underwent a significant upgrade in 2024, with the installation of a new main engine.
The owner now claims that the ship, with the newly upgraded engine and its refrigeration systems, is equipped to handle a variety of perishable goods, general cargo and frozen products.
Recently, the company introduced the first Ro-Ro vessel 1989-built, Link Star, to join its fleet, with the company saying that this “acquisition signalled a significant step forward in its fleet’s evolution.”
