The Hamburg based tanker owner United Product Tankers (UPT), part of Schoeller Holdings, has announced expansion of their fleet by ordering four 50,000-dwt MR tankers at the Chengxi Shipyard, part of the China State Shipbuilding Corp.
The MR tankers now ordered are scheduled for delivery in the second half of 2025 and 2026 and will be managed by Columbia Shipmanagement.
Furthermore, the company mentions that the vessels will meet the high standards laid out according to the International Maritime Organization’s decarbonisation plans, including the NOx Tier III emission standards for engine outputs and the Energy Efficiency Design Index Phase 3 regulations.
