Green Maritime Infrastructure

Indian based Chowgule and Company (Shipbuilding Division), has announced in their social media announced the signing of a contract with Norwegian based Green Maritime Infrastructure (GMI) for the construction of two hydrogen-powered cargo vessels at Chowgule Shipyard, Goa.

These vessels will form part of GMI’s growing zero-emission fleet and mark another important step towards sustainable coastal shipping powered by hydrogen fuel-cell technology.

Chowgule and Company informs that the two new vessels will each have a capacity of 3000 dwt.

The shipbuilding contract was signed during last week SMM Hamburg 2026 shipping exhibition.
