Motagua, newbuild tugboat

Turkish-based shipbuilder Med Marine, specialized in building mainly tugboats and workboats at their Eregli Shipyard, has delivered a Med-A2360 class Robert Allan RAstar 2360 designed tugboat to the Spanish buyers Arrendadora Continental, S.A.

Arrendadora Continental, S.A. says that it has chosen Med Marine’s Med-A2360 unit due to it operational versatility, making it an ideal choice for terminal escort and harbor towage operations, equipped with “state-of-the-art” fire-fighting systems to ensure safety.

The tugboat is 23m long, 10,9m beam, 4,4m depth, 5,05m draft with a bollard pull of 60 tons.

The newbuild tugboat was named “Motagua” and it has arrived successfully at its home port of Puerto Santo Tomas de Castilla, as Med Marine states.

“We are extremely excited about the opportunity to construct this compact vessel for Arrendadora Continental, S.A. and delighted to have them as our business partner. This delivery underscores our commitment to delivering reliable and innovative maritime solutions to our clients,” says Melis Üçüncü, Med Marine’s Sales Director.
