Ocean Yield AS, the Oslo-listed and Norwegian based ship owning and maritime asset investment company, has this week taken delivery of its first 5,500 TEU eco-design newbuilding from the HJSC shipyard in S. Korea, in accordance with the announcement in the social media.
The newbuilding has been named “ZIM Danube” and has now commenced its long-term charter to ZIM.
The vessel is designed for a future conversion to carbon neutral operations using green methanol and feature a 40% reduction in fuel consumption, the company says.
Ocean Yield furthermore informs, that the vessel was originally ordered by MPC Capital AG in Hamburg (Germany), and its construction has been monitored by Wilhelmsen Ship Management.
It will be operated by Wilhelmsen Ahrenkiel and its senior financing has been provided by Bank of America. Advokatfirmaet BAHR AS has given advice on legal matters.
