Wuhu Shipyard announced in its social media that during the SMM 2026 exhibition in Hamburg has signed an MOU with German shipowner SAL Heavy Lift for 5 × 14,600 DWT multi-purpose heavy lift vessels.
Three of the first batch of five vessels have been delivered with proven reliability and high operational efficiency, as Wuhu Shipyard informs.
Backed by solid partnership trust, SAL Heavy Lift has placed an additional order for five identical vessels during the ongoing construction of the first batch.
The total of 10 vessels fully validates global top-tier shipowners’ recognition of Wuhu Shipyard’s build quality, as the shipbuilder mentions.
These vessels feature a large-capacity single cargo hold and wide hatch opening for oversized cargo loading. Fitted with two customized hydraulic cranes delivering a 1,600-ton maximum tandem lifting capacity, it perfectly serves the ocean transportation of offshore wind facilities, large engineering modules and other heavy special cargoes.
