Hong Kong based and listed Orient Overseas Container Line Ltd. (“OOCL”) has celebrated the maiden voyage of its latest two 24,188 TEU mega vessels, “OOCL Finland” and “OOCL Sweden”.

With the addition to their liner service of these two new vessels, OOCL has taken delivery of ten eco-friendly mega containerships of the same model, marking an important milestone in the company’s fleet upgrade.

The two new mega vessels “OOCL Finland” and “OOCL Sweden” were constructed by thew two Chinese shipbuilders Dalian COSCO KHI Ship Engineering Co., Ltd. (DACKS) and Nantong COSCO KHI Ship Engineering Co., Ltd. (NACKS) respectively.

The two vessels are serving the OOCL’s Asia-Europe service LL1, with the port rotation is Qingdao / Shanghai / Ningbo / Xiamen / Yantian / Singapore / Cape of Good Hope / Felixstowe / Zeebrugge / Gdansk / Wilhelmshaven / Cape of Good Hope / Singapore / Yantian / Qingdao.
