Euronav shareholders back takeover of CMB.Tech

The Belgium-based CMB.TECH NV has sold three VLCCs as part of its fleet rejuvenation. The company didn’t disclose any details about the name of the buyers.

The sales of the 2012-built 314,000 dwt vessels Iris, the 2010-built 302,550 dwt Hakata and the 2010-built 302,624 dwt Hakone have generated a total capital gain of $96.7m, the company said.

The vessels will be delivered to their new owners in the course of this year.

CMB.TECH, listed on Euronext Brussels and the NYSE, owns and operates more than 150 seagoing vessels: crude oil tankers, dry bulk vessels, container ships, chemical tankers, offshore wind vessels and workboats.

The shipowner also offers hydrogen and ammonia fuel, through its own production or third-party producers.

The company, headquartered in Antwerp, Belgium, has offices across Europe, Asia, United States and Africa.
