Greece-based and New York-listed Diana Shipping has sealed a time charter extension deal for one of its dry bulk vessels.

The Semiramis Paliou-led owner of 40 dry bulk vessels said on Tuesday that it extended the time charter contract with Cobelfret S.A, in Luxembourg, for one of its post-panamax dry bulk vessels, “Amphitrite.”

The new charter starts on January 12, 2024 and will last until the beginning of 2025.

The employment extension of “Amphitrite” will bring to the company around $4.46m of gross revenue for the minimum scheduled period of the time charter.

The gross charter rate is $12,250 per day for the first thirty (30) days of the charter period and $15,000 per day for the balance period of the time charter, in each case minus a 5% commission paid to third parties, for a period until minimum November 15, 2024 up to maximum January 15, 2025.

The “Amphitrite” is a 98,697 dwt post-panamax dry bulk vessel, built in 2012.

New York-listed Diana’s Shipping fleet currently consists of 40 dry bulk vessels.

Specifically, it has in its fleet portfolio 4 newcastlemax, 9 capesize, 5 post-panamax, 6 kamsarmax, 7 panamax and 9 ultramax.

Furthermore, the combined carrying capacity of the company’s fleet is approximately 4.5 million dwt, with a weighted average age of 10.55 years.
