Dubai-based Tomini Shipping dry bulk ship owner is bolstering its competitive capability with the acquisition of Tomini K2, the first capesize to join the company’s diversified fleet.
With the addition of this 179,816 dwt Chinese-built capesize bulk carrier (formerly known as Thalassini Astrid), Tomini’s fleet reaches a total of 27 vessels with an average age of 6 years.
The acquisition of the Tomini K2 vessel further enhances Tomini’s position in the dry bulk market and is part of its ongoing growth strategy.
Tomini Group is an international business group and is wholly owned by the Shaikh family.
The company is listed on the Norwegian OTC market under the symbol Tomini, while it has a strategic 40-year partnership with Alpina Chartering ApS in Denmark.
Tomini’s current fleet comprises of Handysize, Ultramax, Kamsarmax and Capesize vessels.
It’s worth noting that Tomini has invested more than $500 million in the shipping business over the last 70 years.
