Lomar Shipping, a subsidiary of Libra Group, confirms sale and delivery to its new owners of the 2014-built bulker in China.
Details of the $22m sale of the 63,690-dwt bulker Porto Leone (built 2014) came to light in the market on Wednesday when it was revealed by Lomar’s parent company, the Libra Group via a LinkedIn post.
Singapore’s Delong Zhenxing has emerged as the buyer of the vessel, which was officially delivered in Zhoushan, China.
Built in 2014 at the COSCO Zhoushan Shipyard in China the 63,690 dwt Panama-flagged Porto Leone, is a sister vessel of the Panama-flagged Puerto Rosario.
“We wish the new owners prosperity and good fortune, and the crew continued safe and successful voyages ahead,” said in a note Lomar.
The bulk carrier was sold for approximately $22m and this is the first delivery for Lomar in 2024.
In 2023, Lomar completed $500 million of sale and purchase transactions, which involved a total of 33 vessels that were bought and sold.
