Maran Dry Management, a shipping unit of the Greek Angelicoussis Group with a strong track record in shipping dating back to 1947, is expanding its fleet portfolio with the first Capesize dual-fuel, “Ubuntu Unity.” The vessel was delivered on 28th of February 2023 by Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding (SWS) and will fly the Greek flag.

Maran´s Dry vessel “Ubuntu Unity” has a cargo capacity of about 190,000 mt, an overall length (LOA) of 299.9 m and a beam of 47.5 m, and was designed to include the latest technological advancements while being environmentally friendly, as Angelicoussis Shipping Group reports today.

Angelicoussis Group, founded by Antonis I. Angelicoussis, through its Athens-based affiliates, Maran Tankers, Maran Gas, and Maran Dry, operates a fleet of many vessels, making the group one of the largest shipping groups owned by Greek interests.

Shipping Telegraph reported in February that Maran Tankers Management, an oil tanker shipping unit of the Greek Angelicoussis Group took delivery of the second dual fuel VLCC, Maria A. Angelicoussis.

The vessel was delivered on 15 February 2023 by Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) and was named after the wife of the Group’s founder, Antonis I. Angelicoussis.

She has a cargo capacity of 320,500 deadweight and was designed to be both highly efficient and environmentally friendly.

Except the vessel “Maria A. Angelicoussis”, Maran Tankers Management also took delivery on 3 January 2023 of the dual fuel VLCC Antonis I. Angelicoussis, delivered by Samsung Heavy Industries, and named in honor of the founder of the Group Antonis I. Angelicoussis. She has a cargo capacity of 320,500 deadweight, and was designed to be both highly efficient and environmentally friendly, as the company claims.
