Taipei-based dry bulk shipowner Wisdom Marine Group and Singapore-based shipmanagement giant Synergy Marine Group have established a joint venture company for the Wisdom-owned dry bulk tonnage.
The two partners team up to launch a strategic bulk carrier joint venture under the name Wisdom Synergy Ship Management (WSSM).
This cements the collaborative relationship between Synergy Group and the Wisdom Marine Group which was established in 1999 by shipping magnate James Lan and is listed on the London and Taiwan Stock Exchange.
The move follows Wisdom’s decision last year to entrust Synergy Group with providing management services for a portion of its fleet.
Headquartered in Singapore and with key operational centres in Taiwan and India, WSSM is poised to redefine technical management of Wisdom’s diverse fleet.
James Lan, chairman of Wisdom Marine Group, said: “With WSSM, we embark on a transformative journey, leveraging Synergy’s expertise to enhance our fleet’s operational safety and efficiency, underscoring our commitment to sustainable practices and the well-being of our crew.”
Captain Rajesh Unni, founder and executive chairman of Synergy Marine Group, which manages a fleet of over 650 vessels, observed that “joining forces with Wisdom Marine Group, a leader in global shipping, is an honour. This strategic partnership is built on a strong foundation of mutual respect and common goals. We are committed to making a meaningful impact in the industry.”
