Two citizens of Azerbaijan died and two others were injured in a drone attack on a Turkish offshore tug/supply ship in the Black Sea.

The Azerbaijani foreign ministry said in a statement that two injured crew members were taken to a hospital in the Ukrainian city of Chornomorsk for treatment.

The attack, according to Azerbaijani authorities, occurred on Wednesday, September 9.

The Azerbaijani foreign ministry is currently coordinating efforts with the country’s diplomatic missions and relevant authorities of the respective countries.

Arrangements are being made to return the injured citizens to Azerbaijan following medical examinations and treatment and to provide them with necessary consular assistance. Procedures are also under way concerning the repatriation of the bodies of those killed.

The ministry expressed condolences to the families and relatives of the victims and wished the injured a speedy recovery.

It urged Azerbaijani citizens to refrain from traveling to regions where hostilities are ongoing or where the security situation remains unstable.

Citizens are separately advised not to engage in labor activities in such territories and not to work on means of transport, including vessels, operating on such routes.
