The Belgium-based investment firm Long Nelle, as announced in the social media, has made a new investment into the offshore supply vessel segment.
On January 17, 2024 the midsized 800m3 platform supply vessel (PSV) “Hai Yang Gong Cheng 21”, built in 2019 at the Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry in China, was successfully taken over by Long Nelle at the COSCO Shipyard (Dalian) in China, where she will undergo her 5 year special survey.
The company reveals that after the completion of the drydock, she will set sail from China to the Gulf of Mexico where she will be delivered to her charterer, and commence the commercial trading activities.
Long Nelle is established in July 2023 as an investment company dedicated to the shipping industry.
The company made the initial fundraising round in July 2023 by securing €15m in capital commitments, but it attracted further significant investor interest, and ultimately closed its second round as such raising the total committed capital of €25m.
The shipping investment company Long Nelle is being managed by Lunasol Polaris, who is a Belgium and Norwegian based investment, marine management and consulting service company.
Lunasol Polaris was established in 2021, but the team behind Lunasol Polaris has already since 2018 invested in 27 vessels and exited 15 through 3 different funds.
