The Greek dry bulk owner Diana Shipping led-by Simeon Palios, a well-known Greek businessman and shipping veteran who has spent many years in the industry, has announced today that, through a separate wholly-owned subsidiary, has sealed a time charter deal with SwissMarine, Singapore, for one of its Newcastlemax dry bulk vessels, the San Francisco.
The vessel is a 208,006 deadweight Newcastlemax dry bulk built in 2017. The charter is expected to commence on 19th of February 2023, and the dry bulk owner expects the charter deal to generate a gross revenue of approximately US$14.89 million, for the minimum scheduled period of the time charter.
The shipowner states, that “the gross charter rate is US$22,000 per day, minus a 5% commission paid to third parties, for a period until minimum January 5, 2025 up to maximum March 5, 2025.”
Diana´s Shipping fleet currently consists of 41 dry bulk vessels (4 Newcastlemax, 10 Capesize, 5 Post-Panamax, 6 Kamsarmax, 7 Panamax and 9 Ultramax).
From today, the combined carrying capacity of the company’s fleet, is approximately 4.7 million deadweight, with a weighted average age of 9.85 years.
